Student Passwords Policy

By using their accounts, students agree to adhere to this password policy. Violations may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to account suspension or other appropriate consequences.


1. Password Complexity:

  • Passwords must be at least 8 characters long.
  • Include a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Avoid using easily guessable information, such as names, birthdays, or common words.

2. Password Renewal:

  • Change your password every six months.
  • Do not reuse passwords from the past.

3. Account Lockout:

  • After three consecutive failed login attempts, the account will be temporarily locked.
  • Contact the school's IT department to unlock your account.

4. Password Sharing:

  • Do not share your password with anyone, including friends or family.
  • Keep your password confidential.

5. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA):

  • Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) if available.
  • MFA adds an extra layer of security to your account.

6. Account Recovery:

  • Set up account recovery options, such as alternative email addresses or phone numbers, to facilitate password recovery if needed.

7. Reporting Compromised Passwords:

  • Report any suspected compromise of your password to the school's IT department immediately.

8. Unauthorized Access:

  • Do not attempt to access another student's account or share your login credentials with others.

9. Public Computers:

  • Exercise caution when logging in on public computers.
  • Always log out completely from shared devices.

10. Secure Password Storage:

  • Do not write down passwords in easily accessible locations.
  • Use a secure password manager to store and manage your passwords.

11. Password Education:

  • Educate yourself on the importance of strong passwords and the risks associated with weak ones.

12. Compliance:

  • Failure to comply with this password policy may result in account suspension or other appropriate consequences.
